Gala Charity Event Benefits Educational Initiative for At-Risk Youth

   
WHAT: Brother Timothy Legacy Celebration named for Christian Brother Timothy, one of the great figures in California wine, benefiting the Lasallian Education Fund. Created by Bay Area visionaries, the fund supports the Christian Brothers work in Lasallian schools to further meet the educational needs of poor and at-risk young people on the West Coast and ultimately throughout the world.
   
WHEN:

May 8, 2004; Reception at 6 p.m.; Dinner at 7 p.m.

   
WHERE: Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, St. Helena, California.
   
HIGHLIGHTS: Gala black-tie optional event. Beginning this year, the Legacy Celebration will honor local philanthropists and humanitarians for their contributions to the Napa and Sonoma Valleys.
   
HONOREES: Joseph Phelps, Chairman Phelps Vineyard and The Napa Valley Vintners.
   
CHAIRMAN & VICE CHAIR: Bernard Portet, founder of Clos de Val Winery and Beth Novak, President of Spottswoode Vineyard & Winery.
   
DINNER COMMITTEE: Includes Richard and Marcia Maher, Su Hua Newton, John and Barbara Shafer, Robert and Margrit Mondavi, John and Josephine DeLuca, Bob and Evalyn Trinchero.
